ThinkWrap back on the Profit 200 List
PROFIT Magazine’s rankings indicated that the number of local companies showing up among the top 100 fastest-growing doubled to eight from just four in the previous year. In 2010, the number of Ottawa-area firms listed on both the PROFIT 100 and Next 100 totalled nine.
Of those, five made a repeat appearance in this year’s PROFIT 200 rankings – toy distributor PlaSmart, custom software solutions maker ThinkWrap, advanced battery manufacturer Panacis Medical, pharmaceutical research services provide Allphase Clinical Research Services, and remote database administration services firm The Pythian Group. Several of the companies listed were also named to OBJ’s Fastest Growing Companies for 2011.

ThinkWrap gains ground in Branham 2011: Top Canadian Technology Companies
2010 brought cautious optimism and expected relief from the worst storm to hit the Canadian economy since the Great Depression, but the reality is still that Canada’s ICT industry encountered many of the same challenges in 2010 as it did the previous two years. The events of the past 24-plus months have continued to reshape Canada’s ICT industry. A number of former ICT industry players succumbed to the economic environment, while many others hunkered down just to make it through. While this year’s Branham300 data does reveal some positive trends, it also indicates that the recovery of Canada’s innovative ICT industry is still a work in progress.
